Television is central to the lives of millions of people around the globe. To honor the reach and influence of this medium, the United Nations named November 21st World Television Day in 1996. Along with the U.N. initiative, three European broadcasters’ associations —  ACT, egta and EBU – have produced a short video to emphasize the power of television and its impact on society.

Without a doubt, television is also changing rapidly. Viacom International’s 2015 study TV RE[DEFINED] illustrated that even though the ways people consume television are in flux, viewers believe that its content is better than ever.
